Why does TIME need always access to your location service?

To automatically track the position of your phone, TIME must be running in the background. Apple only allows apps to run consistently in the background in very specific use cases. Tracking locations is one of those, which allows TIME to run in the background. If you’re concerned about privacy, know that we are too. We just track the position of your phone by check the motion sensors without using your current location.

Do Not Disturb is a great function and everybody should be aware of it. But you always have to pick up and touch your phone to switch it on. TIME enhances your DND mode on a more flexible level and empowers you to decide when you want to focus, just by turning your phone. So after you have started the app, configure DND and allow calls by “timeGroup”. Switch DND and TIME on and all your contacts can reach you till you turn your phone screen downwards. Pick it up and you are reachable again.

We wanted to create the most intuitive and easy to use tool, which should give you the opportunity to make a decision about your time and stop distractions wherever you are. Turning your phone screen downwards means you can’t see all the notifications and messages on your home screen. For us, it just makes sense to silent your phone, too. The physical action of turning your phone should build an awareness that you have the control of your focus and time in nearly every situation in your daily life.

TIME works for you in the background and makes you more productive, let you get more things done and enjoy the time with the people you love without distractions.

To enable the functionality of TIME we created a contact group. By clicking the reset button the group will be removed from your phone and all your contacts are in the old state. Then you can delete the app.
